I. Teach Sound Doctrine (Titus 2:1)

1 Timothy 6:2-5 – “2 ...Teach and urge these things. 3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.”

II. Lessons for Life (Titus 2:2-10)

1. Older Men (Titus 2:2)

2. Older Women (Titus 2:3-5)

1 Timothy 2:9 – “likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,”

1 Timothy 3:11 – “Their (deacons) wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.”

3. Younger Men (Titus 2:6)

4. Titus (Leaders) (Titus 2:7-8)

1 Timothy 4:12 – “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

1 Peter 5:2-3 – “2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.”

1 Peter 2:12 – “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.”

1 Peter 3:16 – “having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.”

5. Bondservants (Titus 2:9-10)

1 Peter 2:18 – “Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.”

Matthew 5:16 – “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Philippians 2:14-15 – “14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,”

III. God Trains Through Grace (Titus 2:11-15)
