III. How to Praise
1. Clapping and rejoicing
Psalm 47:1 – “Clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy.”
2. Lifting holy hands
1 Timothy 2:8 – “Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.”
3. Be glad and sing to Him
Psalm 9:2 – “I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.”
4. Sing and praise God to encourage others
Ephesians 5:19 – “…addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart”
5. Praise with eternity in mind
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 – “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
